Frank Böttger | Print In Box | 1972 Computer Art
Very rare offset print from the 'Nonlinear Interpolation-Series', designed by Frank Böttger and printed on acrylic glass in West-Germany in 1972. The two delicate black structures appear to float within their deep frame box.
Frank Boettger was member of the artist group 'MBB Computer Graphics', his early computer graphic works were first shown to the public at the Music/Film/Slide/Light Festival, which was part of the supporting program for the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich.
Prints from this series of graphics were also on display at the exhibition of early computer art 'tendencies 5' in 1973 in Zagreb, Croatia (former Yugoslavia).
Frank Boettger's computer-generated graphics mainly explore the aesthetic dimensions of coordinate shifts, rotations and interpolations and belong to the first ever computer made artworks!
Great condition. Hairline on the back, but not visible from the front.
